Collaborative Coloring Pages
2020 - present Mixed media on paper At the beginning of the pandemic, Julia’s friends and family members were very stressed and anxious. She had the idea to make them personalized coloring pages based on photos they sent her, and this brought them a lot of joy. In October of 2020, Julia had a show at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she received her MFA. She partnered with a drawing class to create 12 collaborative coloring pages. The students filled out a Google form with ideas and images, and Julia created coloring pages based on these pieces of inspiration which the students finished. This process was replicated with students at Meredith College in Raleigh, and local artists.
