creates empathetic experiences, events, and objects. She is an interdisciplinary artist from Minneapolis, MN, living and working in Durham, NC. She received her BA from Barnard College - Columbia University and her MFA from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She has shown her work nationally and internationally and has had residencies at Franconia Sculpture Park in Minnesota, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City, Artspace in Raleigh, and Anchorlight in Raleigh. Julia’s practice encompasses drawing, social practice, sculpture, and performance. She aims to connect people through experiences of self-care, interaction and joy. She is currently the Outreach Assistant and Intern Coordinator at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
